Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a useful tool in web development and Information Technology. Through my coursework, I’ve explored how AI can assist with tasks such as content creation, search engine optimization (SEO), accessibility, and troubleshooting when its use is permitted. I’ve learned that while AI can help make certain tasks more efficient, it’s still important to review its output for accuracy and make sure the final work meets the project’s requirements.
AI-Assisted Content & SEO
I’ve used AI tools like ChatGPT to help improve website content and search engine optimization when permitted during my coursework. For example, I’ve used AI to help generate meta descriptions, refine paragraphs for readability, and suggest relevant keywords for my WordPress portfolio. I review and adjust these suggestions before applying them to make sure the content is accurate, relevant, and written in a way that fits my website.
AI & Website Accessibility
AI can also help improve website accessibility by suggesting descriptive alternative text for images and identifying ways to make content easier to understand. Through my WordPress coursework, I’ve practiced using AI to create and refine image descriptions while also using accessibility testing tools to evaluate my website. This experience has helped me better understand the importance of making websites usable for a wider range of visitors.
Responsible AI Use in Development
While AI can be a helpful tool for web development, I believe it’s important to use it responsibly. AI-generated suggestions aren’t always accurate, so I make sure to review and verify information before including it in my work. When working on coursework, I also make sure that using AI follows the instructor’s guidelines. My goal is to use AI as a tool that supports learning and problem-solving rather than something that replaces my own understanding and effort.
